 | Report: Cap going higher |
leafsrule12345 writes "According to thehockeynews.com (http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/) the cap for the 2008-2009 season will exceed $53-million.
The report is originally from the Toronto Star.
Wasn't this the reason we had a lockout...because teams were spending $50+ million on player payroll? Now each team can spend UP to that amount? Did we lose a season for nothing? Comments, theories, funny jokes?"

Minimum will be around 38 mil. Theres no way teams like phoenix and Nashville can afford that much. those owners are going into debt like crasy, and if they'd only allowed a team differential cap, they'd be fine. |

Re: Report: Cap going higher (Score: 1) by NHLman on Thursday, February 07 (User Info | Send a Message) | Anyone that fears the cap rising is foolish. the CBA, including Revenue sharing, all but guarantees that any team can spend the cap minimum. The cap floor is a provision that makes sure owners don't simply increase their profits, since the CBA already guarantees a certain percentage of profit for the owners, hence the players escrow.
Get the facts straight.

Another commie scam if there ever was one. They say they want to to level the playing field, ie, give every team a fair chance. That's blatant Marxism to the extreme. They may as well bring in Trotsky and Lenin to run the league. Time to boot out these commie bigwigs and end the conspiracy.
