Hockey is the game canadians can't seem to get enough of. It's like an addiction similar to playing the spin palace casino games. But most importantly it is down to the loyalty as a fellow canadian to follow the country's number 1 sport!

Which Sport has the Most Starpower?

Opinion blankbbruins37 writes "Mainly to battle boredom I'm asking the question: which of the four major North American sports has the most starpower? I'll look at each of the 10 best players (all subjective; dont get mad) from each sport and try to judge. So:

Hockey

1. Sidney Crosby
2. Alexander Ovechkin
3. Evegeni Malkin
4. Pavel Datsyuk
5. Roberto Luongo
6. Zdeno Chara
7. Niklas Lidstrom
8. Jarome Iginla
9. Ilya Kovalchuk
10. Chris Pronger

Football

1. Adrian Peterson
2. Tom Brady
3. Calvin Johnson
4. Larry Fitzgerald
5. Troy Polomalu
6. Drew Brees
7. Andre Johnson
8. Peyton Manning
9. Steve Smith
10. Ed Reed

Basketball

1. Lebron James
2. Dwayne Wade
3. Chris Paul
4. Dwight Howard
5. Kobe Bryant
6. Kevin Garnett
7. Tim Duncan
8. Deron Williams
9. Yao Ming
10. Dirk Nowitzki

Baseball

1. Albert Pujols
2. Roy Halladay
3. Johan Santana
4. Jose Reyes
5. Miguel Cabrera
6. Tim Lince*****
7. David Wright
8. Ichiro Suzuki
9. CC Sabathia
10. Ryan Braun

From these lists I'd say basketball is the clear favourite...which may be because basketball allows individuals to succeed more than almost any other sport. The top 5 is unrivaled.

I'd put hockey at 2. Crosby is the second best best player (behind James) and Ovechkin and Malkin (and maybe even Datsyuk) are close behind him. the rest of the top ten is pretty solid as well.

I'd put football at number 3. Football is the deepest sport and the top ten is pretty stellar. Right behind hockey.

Lastly, baseball lacks the most starpower at the moment. Pujols is far and away the worst #1 in any sport right now, and they lack as much star power as the other 3.

I know the article is about the big four but....

TIGER WOODS is bigger then all of your top tens combined, well maybe take out Labron James. No one in sports can hold a candle in the wind to this guy. Tiger is known all across the globe and makes more cha ching then any other athlete.

p.s your top tens are whack! Pronger, calvin johnson, chow mein?

9. Alessandro Del Piero
10. Raul

Hockey has more star power thanks to the play of Cam Ward

I definitley agree that the NBA has by far the most star power just because of the way the game is played.  If you watch one Cav's game, Lebron just walks all over the team whenever he wants.

However, I have to disagree with baseball.  You left out 2 of the most talked about names in all of sports let alone baseball.  Manny Ramirez and Alex Rodriquez.  With all of the steroids debates there are anymore, these guys get talked about more than anyone.

Women's mud wrestling is an emerging sport. In 5 years, it's gonna be more popular than Nascar.

Answer, hockey. Reason? Carey f'ing Price. What other sport mentions a fifth overall draft pick in the same breath as a hall of famer before they play a single game?

How do you mention star power and not mention Alex Rodriguez, who is probably the biggest star of anyone on your lists.
