 glotz_99 writes "The Maple Leafs are reportedly one team interested in unrestricted free agent Chris Neil who the Ottawa Sun has reported will not likely return to the Senators next year.
Brian Burke has expressed his desire to build a bigger and tougher team for next year, and Neil could have key role in this aspect of play. Neil, who turns 30 on June 18, had three goals and seven assists for 10 points, with 146 penalty minutes, in 60 games with the Sens last season.
In 2005 he had a career year with 33 points in 79 games, with 204 PIM.

I'd sooner just re-sign Ryan Hollweg to a two-way deal and put him in when we want some toughness. |

(User Info | Send a Message) | | For the right price I wouldn't mind him in Toronto. Rather have him than Hollweg (Best season ever is 5 POINTS) or Mayers (Best season ever 27 points). Chris Neil showed he can pull a decent season, while Hollweg and Mayers have proven that they clearly can't. |

though i prefer Mayers/May over Neil anyway
.................. why didnt Cliff Fletcher just sign Larauque when he had the chance. Montreal got one of the toughest guys in the NHL for free. the perfect Burke type
