Hockey is the game canadians can't seem to get enough of. It's like an addiction similar to playing the spin palace casino games. But most importantly it is down to the loyalty as a fellow canadian to follow the country's number 1 sport!

 Flames' Langkow hurt

Flames blankSTEVE MACFARLANE

When Daymond Langkow stays down on the ice for more than a few seconds, you have reason to be concerned.

The tough Calgary Flames centre was taken away in a stretcher during the second period after landing awkwardly on his head after bumping off a pair of Minnesota Wild defencemen.

Early word from the Flames is Langkow has all feeling and movement and was taken to hospital for precautionary reasons.

Greg Zanon shoved Langkow from behind, and the Flame bounced off Marek Zidlicky before toppling head-first to the surface as Flames blueliner Ian White's shot slammed into the back of his neck simultaneously.

Glad to hear Langkow is gonna be okay.  Jesus that's a crazy injury.

Any Flames fans think that a complete team makeover is coming this season, what with the crazy up and down season and massive trades Sutter has pulled off so far not doing anything for help in the standings?  What do you think of this rebuild plan

At the Draft:

To LAK: Sarich, Dawes, 3rd in 2010
To CGY: J.Johnson

It's well known that Lombardi does not like Johnson, and the two have openly and publicly argued with each other.  Johnson would help replace the booming shot lost in the Phaneuf deal, and also start making the team younger.  LA gets a cup winning defensemen who works hard, and is relaible.  Dawes and the third are just toss ins, but Daws is a solid player.

Between the Draft and Free Agency:

To PHI: Kipprusoff, Backlund, Pardy, rights to Higgins
To CGY: Briere, VanRiemsdyk, Boucher, rights to Emery

-Extend Emery 2 years, 4 million (2.0 cap hit)

Massive shakeup deal.  Flyers get the relaible number one goalie they've always wanted, and the Flames get Jarome a number one center, and an elite winger prospect.  Emery and Boucher could make a very reliable goalie duo.  It's not like Kipper has gotten it done for them anyways...

July First:

-sign Manny Malhotra, 4 years, 7 million (1.75 cap hit)

-resign Eric Nystrom, 2 years, 1.8 million (0.9 cap hit)
-resign Brian McGrattan, 1 year, 500k (0.5 cap hit)
-resign Ian White, 4 years, 12 million (3.0 cap hit)

-place Ales Kotalik on waivers.  Spend the summer looking for a trade partner.  If he won't go, bury Staios instead.

2010/2011 Roster:

James vanRiemsdyk (1.675) - Daniel Briere (6.5) - Jarome Iginla (7.0)
Niklas Hagman (3.0) - Matt Stajan (3.5) - Rene Bourque (3.3)
Curtis Glencross (1.2) - Daymond Langkow (4.5) - David Moss (1.3)
Eric Nystrom (0.9) - Manny Malhotra (1.75) - Brian McGrattan (0.5)

Jay Bouwmeester (6.68) - Jack Johnson (1.45)
Robyn Regehr (4.02) - Ian White (3.0)
Mark Giordano (0.892) - Steve Staios (2.7)

Ray Emery (2.0) - Brian Boucher (0.925)

CAP HIT - 56.792 million

Lots of new blood, and a couple of very nice young pieces in Johnson and VanRiemsdyk.  Emery could be a home run too, and would much younger and more affordable than Kipper.  I think I like this lineup.  Briere is a true playmaking center.
