 | Good sign for Marc Savard |
WILMINGTON - Marc Savard’s condition finally is improving. “I talked to him (Monday) night and he’s feeling better and better every day,” Bruins [team stats] general manager Peter Chiarelli said yesterday. “He had just gotten back from a brisk half-hour walk. It’s really good news. As far as when he’s back, I have no idea, but it’s good news.”
The Bruins hope Savard’s recovery from a serious concussion suffered March 7 accelerates to the point where he’s able to start exercising before too long. His return to game action, even if the B’s make a deep run in the playoffs, is a long shot, but the team hasn’t given up hope.
Meanwhile, defenseman Mark Stuart, who missed the final five games of the regular season with a finger infection that required surgery, hasn’t even resumed physical activity.
“The wound has pretty much healed, but he can’t exercise as long as he’s taking the antibiotics,” said Chiarelli, who added Stuart could be on medication for up to three more weeks depending on the status of the infection.

It just seems like a bad idea. Bergeron and Krejci have picked up their offensive games as expected since he's been out, so they can hold the fort down.
Just wait a few months and you'll have a new toy to play with in Hall or Seguin. |
