Hockey is the game canadians can't seem to get enough of. It's like an addiction similar to playing the spin palace casino games. But most importantly it is down to the loyalty as a fellow canadian to follow the country's number 1 sport!

Trade Rumors: More Rumors - Dustin Byfuglien, Kaberle and more

Trade Rumors blankA collection of tweets and a rumor tidbit from the Edmonton Journal - Rumors from Pierre Lebrun, Bob McKenzie with regards to Dustin Byfuglien, Kaberle and more

Pierre Lebrun

Meanwhile, source tells me this morning that interested in Tomas Kaberle getting ``more serious'' and there have been ``several offers.''

Dustin Byfuglien is definitely in play as the Blackhawks sort through how to eliminate their salary cap issues this summer.

Horton trade has't happened, I'm told. Bruins are in thick of it but nothing done yet. Stay tuned. He'll move. Could be BOS.

Penguins to go after Whitney

Take this to the bank: the Pittsburgh Penguins will go hard after Carolina Hurricanes winger Ray Whitney as a free agent, after letting the hugely disappointing Alexei Ponikarovsky and the enigmatic Ruslan Fedotenko walk away.

Ponikarovsky was a dud after they got him from the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was a healthy playoff scratch, doing himself no favours in free agency.

Whitney would like a two-year deal, but he might take one to play with Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin .

Somebody should go after Kaka.

Ponikarovsky will probably get a solid deal in Atlanta.  Ponikarovsky - Antropov - Afinogenov could be a solid line when followed by the likes of Evander Kane, Nicklas Bergfors, Bryan Little, Patrice Cormier, and perhaps Jeff Skinner.  Whitney on the other hand, could be pretty pricey for Pittsburgh.  Like the article says though, he might consider a discout to play with Crosby or Malkin.  That said, it's not like he had it rough playing with Eric Staal.

I'm loving the sounds of Byfuglien in play, and I hope Burke is working the phones on that one.  I would love if he traded a pair of prospects and maybe our 2nd in 2011 for him.  Paradis, Mitchell and a 2nd?  That's basically a 1st, 2nd and 3rd for Byfuglien and 3 million in cap savings.  I guess a lot of teams will be interested in Byfuglien though.

Darren Dreger has a hunch that Tampa Bay is the team that gets a deal done for Kaberle.  That being said, his brother-in-law Dave Nonis could be stringing him along to put the right things out there.  Perhaps the team they really want to deal with isn't offering up the right kind of package just yet, so Nonis tells Dreger "yep, could definitely be Tampa."  I suspect a lot of posturing is going on right now.  There's the potential for Maple Leaf fans to be re-experiencing the Phaneuf/Giguere euphoria of a few months back, or the chance tor major disappointment.

Would Leafs fans want Poni back at 2 million? I'm on the fence leaning towards no.
