Hockey is the game canadians can't seem to get enough of. It's like an addiction similar to playing the spin palace casino games. But most importantly it is down to the loyalty as a fellow canadian to follow the country's number 1 sport!

Great Day to Be an American, Too Much on Comrie, A Shot at Larry Brooks and more

Team U.S.A. blankChallenging Mikster

It's a great day to ba an American and an Iraqi.

This Comrie story is too exaggerated, hopefully it ends soon.

A step away from the worst journalist (Garrioch), and a shot at NY's media rumor headcase Larry Brooks.

My comments on a couple of articles, and my replies to the previous CM article's comments.

Also........my off-topic rant and my two favorite music CDs of 2003.

The evil satanic dictator has finally been caught by US troops. FINALLY! A part of the evil world has been capture and will be put to justice. Thank you USA, and a big thank you to all the men and women who fought to get this bastard. And, take that you European socialist a-holes.

Moving on........

The Mike Comrie story is starting to become a big chaotic confusion. It's gotten to a certain point where I've had enough of it. If I was Kevin Lowe, right now I'd call the deal off and make Mike Comrie hold out the rest of the year. If I were GM Murray, of the Ducks, I'd also call the deal off. I still am on GM Lowe's side. I mean, these players and agents have to learn a lesson from this. And you know what, I think it's not a bad idea when a player decides to hold out and request to be traded that he pays a fine in order to get traded. Obviously not a fine of $2.3M, but a hefty one.

These hold outs have GOT to stop. Players have too much of a say when it comes to these moments, and it's the general manager and the rest of his staff that decides what to do, not the player. Comrie has shown no respect to his team, to his home land, and to his fans.

Larry Brooks of the New York Post speculates that Eric Lindros is being showcased and then may be involved in a three-way deal with the Red Wings and Coyotes, further saying that Sean Burke comes to Broadway. Now, he must have smoked and sniffed something to say that. I am shocked, and confused at his idea of replacing Dunham with an older and injury prone goalie.

Get a clue Mr. Brooks. I mean, say something that makes sense when you speculate about Lindros being showcased. I would trade him to Detroit for a 1st rounder and a prospect. Lindros will not earn $9M dollars this season since he's been injured. His price is lower and base salary is already getting paid. Basically, he's not a big financial addition for the Wings. Hey, makes more sense than a 3-way deal involving Sean Burke.

datsyuk13 writes:
"As of now Pavel Datsyuk, yes i'm sure you have seen some of his highlight real goals but haven't really thought much of him unless you are a wings fan but he is now leading the NHL in Points...

And its sad to see that he isnt even in the all-star voting when he obviously deserves to be there. Yzerman is gettin a lot of votes and theres nothing for Datsyuk! I said it the first time i saw Pavel skate, this guy is gonna be a superstar, well now he is and no one even is giving him credit for A.)leading the Wings in points (they have a lot of talent), let alone B.)LEADING THE NHL IN POINTS!!! Give the damn kid some recognition and vote for him to get him to the all-star game! HE NEEDS YOU TO VOTE SO DO IT!"

I recognize Datsyuk's massive offensive power as of late, especially since he is on my fantasy team. He is a highly skilled player with a mind full of creativity. Makes me want to ask..."Who was Fedorov?". There's still a bit more than a month left. He will get a lot of recognition soon. It's just that there is a ton of trade rumors going on, the whole Comrie saga, and the media is all caught up with those....topics. You're looking at a lethal Russian player who will look great playing with Kovalchuk. Say, GM Holland already hoping that Ilya Kovalchuk will ask for too much money and so the Wings will make an offer that no one will beat? I wouldn't be surprised!

noggin writes:
"Became restricted free agent after 1991-92 season but refused to accept Edmonton's lowball contract offer of $600,000 per year over two seasons, instead holding out and waiting until team could orchestrate a trade. Hoping to be dealt to Montreal, he was disappointed when Edmonton traded him to N.Y. Rangers, and he took six more days before signing with new team. ...

Found this on the net,,,, It describes how Mr Lowe left the OIL

Wadda you think of your little " give me back our money you can't dictate where you can be traded " angel now !!

Interested in your thoughts"

Well, I find that as just a dull way to take Comrie's side. First of all, Lowe, back then, wasa great defenseman and a Cup winning player. His value qas definitely different than Comrie's right now. Also, back then the Oilers were not so financially cash strapped.

If anything, it's a What Comes Around Goes Around for Comrie. He got greedy for more money, and now the Oilers are greedy with Comrie's money.

Let's take a look back at our previous CM's comments that I didn't get to reply.

Bretzky writes:
"Mikster writes the best articles on here. (Besides me, when I write my one article per 7 months because I'm so damn lazy). Seriously though, great article; very interesting; Mikster always has something new to bring to the table. Fun read."

I know I do Bretz, because I am the best as well! And Mantaray....who replied "Are you kidding me?"...na, of course he is not kidding!

starsgirl25 writes:
"this is my new feeling about the stars- they will turn it around soon, they've been making small steps toward getting better. and if my team(ft.worth brahmas) can snap a 13 game losing streak, get their first home win and 3 win overall on the season in one night, then the stars can deffinatly make a turn around in the right direction.

and the best cars ever are VW beetles. my friend has one, i want one(silver, sunroof, manual, 6 cd player) they are really nice cars. they might look small, but you can fit about 7 people in them."

Well, it takes time but the West is a hard Conference to compete with. Until Mike Modano steps it up, the Stars will be a team, like the Rangers, jumping around the .500 mark. And for your VW Beetle, you'll get one!

Levitate writes:

**** you for calling us ranger fans who don't want jagr "wimps" and telling us to get some balls

**** you for being the wimp who wants to look for a quick fix in an overpriced underachieving superstar with motivation problems and who has never gotten along with any coach and goes into scoring slumps when he doesn't get his way

you know what? jagr has what, 11 goals? big damn deal..messier has 10. i expect a helluva lot more out of jagr than that and i'm sick of the cries of "well jagr wants to be in new york so if he's traded here he'll take off and play amazing"

**** that, you dont' know that's true, jagr will always be a little whiny prick. add to that, the caps will NOT trade jagr for a bag of pucks, they're gonna want some pretty damn good compensation

so **** you, you're the wimp who wants a quick fix in the form of a overhyped has been.

if you had presented your view without the name calling, fine, but ***** you for trying to put the rest of us down

That was so much fun, wasn't it? I laughed till I pee'd.....and then I laughed at that.

Anyway, I've said it before that Rangers fans are impatient fans who PMS. Well, I am one of them. Once again last night the Rangers lose because of their INABILITY to score the key goals on the PP. The refs made a horrible call on Lindros with the Leaf guy diving like a Chinese stunt man (by the way, refs were seriously pathetic in that game, and the NHL made itse;f a joke by only handing out one game suspension to Adam Mair and two games to Mironov for defending himself, makes sense?). What happened? The Leafs scored. That was the turning point of the game. What would have been the turning point of the game for the Rangers? If they scored on the PP. They didn't. When the Rangers go on the PP, I have a feeling of "God, I hope they score on this one". If Jagr was wearing a Rangers on PP..it'd be more like "Something will happen."

Look, six is too long, why ride this team all the way where it will, at best, be around 3 to 5 games over .500, risking for a loss to 8th playoff seed. Make that seven years. And so the Rangers let go their veterans, trade some, and then they are stuck with youngsters and veteran players in a rebuilding mode. That could add eight years and maybe nine years. You're willing to wait that long? Fine with me.

I don't think that wanting my team to win and make the playoffs makes me a wimp. I want them to take the risk on Jagr, they took it with Pavel Bure and Eric Lindros. I want the playoffs. That does not make me a wimp. The ones who say no to Jagr, let's risk failing without any attempts to make it this season, and just go with young players the next couple of years, and who cares if we'r emissing the playoffs in a rebuilding mode. Come on........that sounds ridiculous.

GretzNYR99 writes:
"The people who keep saying that the Rangers should build for the future should take a good look at Hartford and at Jimmy Schoenfeld, Ryan McGill, and Nick Fotiu have done down there, then if they have the balls to challenge the numbers, come back and say it again."

Glen Sather has done a maginificent job with the minor league system. He completely changed the staff, the system, and scouts are much better. Because of call ups and injuries, the Wolfpack are not the best AHL team anymore, but they are still one of the better ones because of their age. Acquiring 22 year old Wiseman for 27 year old Nils Ekman, who's doing well in San Jose, was a great small move. Putting Schoenfeld and Nick Fotiu there was also smart. Adding Tom Renney to the Rangers organization has been great. He's been a great player developper, has a great draft structure. The future Rangers nucleus holds Blackburn, Henrik Lundqvist, Lundmark, Moore, Murray, Ortmyer, Wiseman, Tjutin, Lampman, State, and Stals. Can't wait for Huge Speciman (Jessiman) to come in the group soon. Hartford is not made up by the Bob Erreys and the Brad Smyths, or Derek Armstrong's anymore. By the way, how is Pavel Brendl doing? Hah!

JoeKO writes:
"I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks Car and Driver needs to have their heads examined. The Prius makes me want to gag every time I see it. On the same idea, what's with that brick Honda made? WHY do people buy those? Think about it! IT'S A BRICK. THERE WAS MORE STYLE INVOLVED IN THE FLINTSONE CAR!!!"

EXACTLY! Yeah, I completely agree with you.

hands down, Europeans now how to make the best damn cars...theyre fast, theyre powerful, they're durable and they last for MANY years...i don't mean the ones that you will find here in North America...i mean actual ones that you will buy from a dealer in the EU
i think Mikster will agree with me, right neighbor? Italia - Grecia"

Exactly, 5% plastic. Come on, that Honda Element is a Rubbermaid plastic tapperware. Fiat is ok...don't like it too much and the ownership is idiotic and chaotic. I hope General Motors gets more than the current 40% they own, they need to turn Fiat around. Alfa Romeo is a favorite of mine. See, Japanese cars miss that hostoric value. A 1920's Alfa could be worth over a million dollars. And yes, I agree with you, neighbor!

My off-topic rant.....

I like beer, a lot. I like to taste lots of beers and Belgian beer being one of my favorite, then UK beer. I was a big fan of Killian's Red. I liked it, and it was the kind of beer I got once a month. Somehow, and I am sure this is not new either, last night I had a bottle of Killians and it tasted weird, tasted different than the Killians I know. I take a look at the bottle and it said Product of USA. What the hell is that about! I got ripped off paying the same amount of money that I spend on Imported Killians and it does not even taste as good as Irish Killian's Red. Bah, I am upset at Geroge Killian's family for making that decision.

My two favorite CD albums of 2003:

Dropkick Murphys Blackout album. Great music, fun to listen to in a bar, or during a hockey game. I am into Punk Rock, so....they are great! I appreciate their lyrics and their ways of being proud of what and who they are. Waving the American flag in one of their concerts, unlike the anti-American Punk bands, like Pennywise (From the Ashes sucks). So, if you got a good Irish and American spirit, and into Punk Rock....these guys kick ass.

On December 9th, Offspring's new album came to stores. I agree with what Dexter Holland said, every one of their albums that has one word in its title is excellent (Smash, Americana, and now Splinter). They completely elevated and matured their skills. They said they tried new things, and those new things are great. A nice mix of Punk Rock with some cool tech sounds, a SKA song in their, and better rock sound overall. If you're not too much inot Punk music, this is still very good to get. Way to go Offspring!

I have to disagree with you on the Comrie situation. Comrie isn't holding out. He's said that he doesn't want to play in Edmonton anymore. Fine. But for Kevin Lowe to arrange a trade, and then ask the player for $2+ million dollars is just wrong. It's vindictive. Comrie's is obviously willing to wait this out. He's hasn't gone to the papers and ripped Kevin or the team for how long it's been dragged out. At least not that I've read. If he wants the money to spend on another player, then ask Bryan Murray for it, not Comrie. Lowe's made a deal with Anaheim, so live with that and move on. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if the PA filed a grievance over this if it's doesn't get resolved soon.

And I think there is a distinction between the Comrie situation and what Alexei Yashin did in Ottawa a few years ago. Comrie played out his contract. He's under no obligation to re-sign with Edmonton. He could sign with any other team in the league. But in today's NHL, RFA's don't get offer sheets, so the team has all the power. That's not a hold-out in my mind. When you refuse to fulfill a signed contract in an effort to get a new one, that's a hold-out.

Datsyuk is playing amazing. defenite all star. Probably making the people in detroit forget about the other russian center that they had for the last 10 years.

Kris draper is having a good year.

I do not know anything about the rangers farm system, but I know about the Isles system. I'll take Trent Hunter. He worked in the AHL for 2 years playing 10 games in two years in the NHL. He had like 70 goals over 2 years in Bridgeport. He was ready after the first year but the Isles wanted him to be a superstar right away when he came up. He is a possible calder candidate. Maybe the rangers should try to used this method which as i read here they are trying to do. Even if from this they only get 1 or 2 players that contribute cant hurt. They need to get younger so try this method.

i love the dkm blackout album, i'm a huge dkm fan, saw them live and they put on an awesome show. that album is a little better than they previous one, sing loud, sing proud. i love this band, and so should every one else!

the stars are doing a lot better. the game against chicago at the AAC was a surprise win to me. i figured that after the scoreless 1st period, the game was going to go in the blackhawks direction in the 2nd b/c that's where the stars usually fall. but instead i was amazed at the result and how the stars players continued to throw shots at the net and try to get rebounds, not get mad and take stupid penalties. it was a really good game.

and the brahmas report(because i know you all care)- they lost 4-2 last night. they kept it close until the 3rd period where the indiapolis ice took over and kept the brahmas at bay. the good thing is, i got a stick signed by the whole team.

Steve... wrong. You're thinking of emo, fake punk, as in Good Charlotte, New Found Glory, Dashboard Confessional, Starting Line, Used, shit like that. Real punk is stuff that I bet you haven't even heard of.

Propagandhi, Pennywise, Death By Stereo, Osker, Pulley, Rancid, AFI, 98 Mute, Agnostic Front, Dwarves, H20, Bombshell Rocks, Guttermouth, New Bomb Turks, Zeke, Descendents, NOFX, TSOL, Bad Religion, Exploited, Deviates, Misfits, Sex Pistols, etc...

As for you, Mik...

Lindros to Detroit for a 1st rounder and a prospect? You're willing to take a risk on Jagr to make the playoffs, but not on Burke when Dunham has clearly been shakey since the groin and Markkanen hasn't been up to par since losing the back-to-back with Toronto? This makes no sense what-so-ever Mik. You gotta stick to your guns man. This makes MUCH more sense than sending to the retirement home in Detroit. We get a quality starting goaltender who's proven he can carry the load. Dunham is JUST AS MUCH OF AN INJURY RISK as Burke is. So don't give me that crap. Even if we don't get Jagr, this gives Carter more time, and we can trade for depth.

"Look, six is too long, why ride this team all the way where it will, at best, be around 3 to 5 games over .500, risking for a loss to 8th playoff seed. Make that seven years." - You said it yourself, Mik... six is too long. Stick to your guns man.

As for Hartford, agreed. Sather's done a great job with the personnel changes, but the personnel did a great job with the kids, don't forget that.

What's up with Dunham? Getting rid of Poh-Dee would help solidify the D (Bouchard is better than him). How I see it, either the Rangers or the Isles make the playoffs, and this will ultimitly be determined by their records against eachother.

What an amazing show. Pure energy right there, and the lead snger has one of the best voices in rock today. Also my boy Chris Cornell of Audioslave is just awesome. One of the best voices ever in rock and roll. Soundgarden ruled, and now the guitar of Tom Marello and the voice of Cornell is unbeatable.

Its time for Modano to step up his game bigtime. He needs a breakout week to help his confidence and then the Stars will start rolling. Turgeon should be back tonight- the Stars are going to win because of him. Sorry for the sarcasm Stars fans. I love you all.

Is it just me....or did Saddam look like Michael Jackson after they shaved him? He was very white.....

Comrie isn't going to amount to anything this season if he ever comes back. He might as well cut his losses and go play some curling.

Lindros isn't going anywhere for a first rounder. I know the Wings do like to trade them, but Lindros is damaged goods......maybe a second or third. But definitely not a first.

Best CDs of 2003: Mushroomhead-XIII, these eight guys from Cleveland put together a dynamic aggressive album. Also the best live show you'll see in a while. They play both very heavy songs and very melodic....check it out.

Type O Negative- Life is Killing Me, Peter Steele and the other Doom Metallers came back with the best pure metal release of the year. Both serious and humorous, it's a refreshing release by a band who doesn't take itself too seriously.

Lamb Of God-As the Palaces Burn, DOUBLE BASS CRAZY!!! If you like technical metal then go get this now. Best drummer i've heard since Fear Factory.

Another thing I think its funny how alot of them call Canadians cowards, German cowards etc. So just because your soliders went to war that means your brave and not a coward? I bet 90% of these comments come from people who have never been to war and they are going around pointing the figure at everyone calling them cowards just because they are from a country that did not follow the US into the war. My point is look at yourself before you call someone else a coward, and give credit to the real hero's that deserve it, the US soliders and the Iraq citizens that had to make scarifices for freedom.

They beat up a third world country with out-dated weaponry. Only in America, where bullying is a way of life, would such a victory be treated with such bravado. Mind you, their track-record for winning wars against weak countries is not great, so I guess they should take pride when they do actually win one.

First off, punk rock rules. Iron Maiden does too. (got my tickets for Jan 20).

CBA? people are either closing their eyes or are simply in denial. You can't go say stuff like Don Cherry does and think nothing is wrong in the hockey world. Look at what's going on:

-Dallas Stars have been told by the bigwigs that they play like crap, they've been playing crappier ever since.

owners:1 nhlpa:1 (they still got burned but now he's starting to wish he never said that, team chemistry is going down the toilet)

-Washington's ex-coach Bruce Cassidy said some things that were totally BS and uncalled for but in a sense we have to understand Cassidy's point of view. The ever lasting frustration that coaches have in regards to players always winning in these situations and coaches are always shown the way out. Money talks and BS walks!

NHLPA:2 Owners:1

Mike Comrie wants contract. Mike Comrie doesn't get contract. Mike Comrie demands trade. Mike Comrie is not getting trade. (yet) Kevin Lowe takes his time. Kevin Lowe shopping around for best deal/ bargain/ money saving trade for Comrie. 3 months later, Kevin Lowe agrees with Anaheim. Mike Comrie is happy. Kevin Lowe asks for 2.535 million $. Mike Comrie is UNHAPPY >:(
Mike Comrie does not get traded. (yet?)
NHLPA:2 Owners:2

There is no denying that tension is growing between players and owners.

Will this go to overtime?

Ilya is staying put. Ken Holland is bright enough not to overpay in this case, even if the new CBA is player-generous.

Just have to put in my vote for Finger Eleven as one of the few good CDs in an otherwise uneventful year musically. Strange isn't it? Living so far south, my favorite group of all-time is Canadian (Rush) as well as one of my favorites for this year in Finger Eleven. I'm definitely living in the wrong place.

I'm not the one to pick on a team for nothing, but after watching the Leafs/NYR game the other night, I have no choice but to feel for Mik and his fellow Rangers fans. It was the 3rd game in less than one month opposing both teams so I was ready for some bad-blood to heat up and intense play, even deciding to watch this game instead of my Habs against TB... Boy was I wrong!

This team showed no sign of heart and/or passion at all. They were absolutely dead on the ice. Bad referees or not, they would've lost even with 10 more PP in the game. They had their chances alright, but their Power-Play was not even close to being dangerous. It was the same against my Habs last week as well.

Kovalev looking for his 1st PP goal of the season has got to be a total joke. You have a Leetch-Kovalev-Nedved-Lindros-Carter/Holik/ PP unit and you can't do better than that? no excuses.

Lucky for you, rookie Jason MacDonald was there to provide this team some energy cause the rest of the team wasn't there at all. Pathetic.

It's got to be a pain in the ass to root for the NYR when you see your team capable of 3-to-5 goals every game but yet has a hard time to score even once... Besides, you can't lose 3 games in a row against a team that's in the same conference than you in the same month, in regular season. That's unacceptable.

I feel for you guys, I really do. I don't think they'll make the playoffs though, not after what I saw.

My two cents.

Punk music is a sham

What you do and how you do it makes you punk

I give a crap what happens to poor people on my street and poor people in other countries. that's punk.

I care about how what I buy and where I shop affects other people. That's punk.

I value people over money, and ideas over goods. I value art and freedom. That's punk.

Listening to Good Charlene or Fingers Elephant or whoever they are does not make you punk, nor does running down people who are punk, but happen to like those bands

The only people I disdain are the people who look punk, but cruise the mall for new studded belts and gun piercings at the kiosk, the people who dye their hair and wear plaid they bought at WalMart. The people who watch TRL and vote for Blink182 "Kuz THeyre KEWL, and TRaViS IS SOOOOOooooooo CUTE! eeeeeEEEEEEEEEeeeeee!"

I went from dyed hair, nailpolish, multiple piercings, and shitty band shirts to suits and ties. I am still punk.

I follow my own path and think for myself.

That's punk.

BTW: If you like some good punk, try the almighty Trigger Happy, or the Smalls, or if you like Rancid, try Operation Ivy (the predecessor to Rancid), if you want to go old school try Dag Nasty or Minor Threat or NoMeansNo. FISHBONE - "party at ground zero" is a party pleaser for the holiday season

What the *****??? I have been playing guitar for just under 2 years on and off and believe me I suck... I could still be praised as the the best punk rock guitarist ever if I forgot half of what I know about the guitar, and learned how to sing like my dick was balder than Darren Pang (like a 12 year old boy) I listen to music that has skill and effort. ***** your teen angst and fake anger twards the system, like any of you give enough of a ***** to do shit about anything wrong in this world. If your in or listen to a punk band and you wern't back in the early 80's give it up. Stop crying and tuck your string in. It'll all be gone in five years anyway. OH yeah, I am so proud that close to 500 of my brothers and sisters in the Army are dead so that the Vice-Presidents company could get an exclusive contract for Iraqi oil??

What is so wrong with Mike Comrie asking for a trade. He played out his contract, gave the organization everything they wanted from him, and then he has one bad playoff round and the coach says that he never wants to coach that "little S.O.B" again. Mike Comrie has a right to play for another team. He is a RFA. He does not have a contract with the Oilers, therefore he is not obligated to play for them. Kevin Lowe has no right to demand 2.5 million dollars from the guy. As far as i'm concerned, Lowe has made this personal and is not doing what's good for the team. He is also potentially discouraging players from playing in Edmonton.

As for as the punk situation. It pisses me off when I see little 13 year old kids running around thinking they're punk because they listen to Blink 182 and wear trucker hats. Personally, I prefer Hip Hop, Techno, Rave and rock bands like ACDC, but I have heard real punk and let me make this clear to all you poser kids out there: Blink 182 is NOT PUNK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And with the war in Iraq. Yes it is great that the US got rid of a terribly evil man, but the cost was high and the war was not fought for the right reasons. In this war, over 500 US soldiers and thousands of Iraqi civilians lost their lives. So why don't you tell them that it was worth it. Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction. Oil tycoon Bush just wanted the damn oil. Frankly, this war was not worth fighting unless the USA is willing to spend the next 15 years rebuilding Iraq, because it will not happen in a day. People think that now that Sadaam is gone, there is peace in Iraq. This is not the case. Iraq is still as dangerous as it ever was and the States will have to spend many years and billions of dollars rebuilding it. I hope you people in America and your government are aware and prepared to do this.

The Anti-Bush club, aka the Peanut Gallery is now in session. These *****heads watch CNN night in, night out trying to gain enough information to spit it out on here to try and look smart. They have no clue of the underlying information that they choose to ignore. It's time that you fools shut up, because you're all like broken records. You have no basis for any of your statements, and anything that you hear on CNN, you're willing to use as your own resolution as to what's happening. You people make shit up constantly just so you could have another reason to bash Bush. I know too many people like you all, and it's ridiculous. If you were any better than him, why aren't you there? I'm not saying he's the best president we've had, but had Clinton been in office, Saddam would have pulled a Hitler and gained a power that would be unrivaled by brainwashing his citizens and ruling with an iron fist to get his people to take over lands. Their military looks poorly... yes... but what happens when Saddam actually funds them to go out and fight? He's got money out the ass, to say the least, you figure out the rest. As for Clinton, he would have just sat back and let them sort shit out themselves, while Saddam took over. Iraq, a 3rd world country? A 3rd world country that produces loads of biological weapons including the Anthrax that was sent over in the fall of 2001. Yeah, I sure call that 3rd world. Did you ever see the palace that Saddam lived in? It wasn't too shabby.

Or, we could all be liberals, sit back, and get blown to hell or become Iraqi slaves and p.o.w.'s and watch as Bin Laden and Hussein fight for power.

Mushroomhead??????
PeterSteele???
Rancid???
Joe Strummer???
Fishbone?????????
Trigger Happy?????
Finch??????
AFI????
DropKickMurphys??

And plus the half ass bands that seem to get credit on this site: Offspring, Blink 182, and others.

Is it me or do I have a bad taste of music...

I haven't seen a good album since 2002 when the two great System of a Down CD's came out, and the one Disturbed. 2003 is weak, there best album that I've owned is probably Alien Ant Farm I forget the name of the CD.

As for americans.. sure take pride.. I don't care.. not like the canadians will ever capture anyone soon..

I'm happy that we have taken an evil dictator out of power, but I won't say anymore. There's no need to push my opinion on others on this site about a topic as sensitive as war.

Ahhh, the Mike Comrie saga continues. I find it funny that Lowe is asking him for $2.5M in order to complete the trade. I see his reasoning but I think he's just trying to be an ass because that's what Comrie has been doing.

As for The NY Rangers....Is it just me or did every Ranger fan hail Dunham as some sort of goalie god after he stood on his head for the last half of last year? And now rumors are starting up about replacing him with Burke, Kolzig, Joseph, etc? Ever hear of a slump? He's coming back from an injury, give him time to recover. He'll be fine by January.

Datsyuk has been playing amazing. I'm still awestruck by the goal he scored against Dallas (I think). That was the goal of the year so far!

I listen to too much music so I can't really pick the best CD out from this year, but if I had to choose it'd be the White Stripes - Elephant

Best Rap CD - Outkast
Best Punk CD - Rancid (I'm with you Lint!)
Best NY CD That No One Knows About - Elefant! (yes I spelled it with an F)

I haven't heard the Offspring CD yet, but I love them and I will have it by the beginning of next year.

Great job as always Mik!
