#2 Andrew brunette is not a fourth liner for colorado he will play second line more then likely with knowalchuk third and laaksonen fourth.
#3 carter and richards likely will be on the same line everyone knows that. alot of people say them and primeau.
#4 shouldnt have done newjersey because they will likely be moving 3 or 4 people but i know your speculating.
#5 cant believe i would talk about hockey and mention florida as a team with a lengthy list of veterans.
thats some problems i see. |

Re: Possible lines and depth charts (Score: 1) by bernie1parent on Sunday, September 11 @ 09:15:51 MDT (User Info | Send a Message) | you have the flyers all wrong. for one, knuble is a RW'er and will be playing RW. here is how it goes.
LW-C-RW
Gagne-Forsberg-Carter
Sim-Handzus-Knuble
Kapanen-Primeau-Stevenson
Brashear-Richards-Radivojevic
Hatcher-Johnsson
Rathje-Desjardins
Therien (or possibly seidenberg)-Pitkanen
Esche
Nittymaki
This is how the flyers will start off, but i think by the end of the year, they might end up trading of zus and getting a LW'er so they dont have Sim out there on the 2nd line. All three of their Phantom affiliate players (Sim, Carter, Richards) can all put the puck in the net, and with the good lines that Sim and Carter are on, i could see them having 40+ points. Sim maybe hovering right around 40 but Carter is an amazing talent, he'll put out 50 points (atleast) with the line i have him on.
(you probably wonder why kapanen is in there, its because kapanen and prims played last year together and they are comfortable) |

No doubt the lines will be mixed around to balance out the lines better. Example: Bruins - Samasonov is definetly our best LW but he will prob play on the second line with Zhamnov and they will play either Isbister, possibly flip McEachern to the LW or maybe even put one of Boyes or Hilbert on the top line with Thornton and Murray. |

lines-depth (Score: 1) by wingerxxx on Sunday, September 11 @ 11:55:33 MDT (User Info | Send a Message) | Let's see, let's go team by team here. Anaheim will not be pairing Ozolinsh and Scott Niedermayer. They will be split up except on the power play.
Bobby Holik will NOT be Atlanta's top line center. Holik will most likely the second line center behind Savard. Will be put on a checking line on some occasions, and given lots of PP time. Also, Kovalchuk and Hossa will not play on the same line.
For Boston, also, Samsonov will likely not be on Thornton and Murray's line. He will play with Zhamnov, to create more depth.
In Colorado, they'll be mixing and matching their D all year long. I expect their pairings to be Skrastins-Blake, Liles-Boughner, Vanannen-Brisebois, or something to that effect. Breezy might jump to the top two pairings. But your pairings might well be what they end up with.
For Florida...Gratton isn't a winger, trust me. They tried that little experiment in Philadelphia. Right now, he is just a 5th center, unless they swing a trade, or Jokinen doesn't come back. I guess you could stick him at wing, but he plays badly enough at his natural position..
Rolston will be playing center for the Wild. They need the depth there. Then again, they also need depth on wing. Who knows.
For the Devils, they will have their line of Elias-Gomez-Gionta intact. Move Mogilny to the second line with either Brylin or Friesen, and Viktor Kozlov. And Langenbrunner to the third. One of those guys will be dealt though.
On the Island, I'd put Kvasha on the top line, because you know that is where they will start him. He is not a third line center. And Parrish on the second line in place of Weinhandl.
As for the Rangers...they didn't bring Nylander in to be a third line center. He will play with Jagr on the first line. With either Rucinsky or Straka on the wing, probably Straka. The second line will likely be Rucinksky-Rucchin-Balej.
I see the Senators sticking to their gameplan of playing their 3 top guns (Alfredsson, Heatley, Havlat) on different lines. If anyone is going to shift to the third line, it will be Heatley. Havlat doesn't do as well on the left wing.
Tarnstrom and Gonchar will likely not be paired together in Pittsburgh, unless they really enjoy odd-man rushes the other way.
Hannan-Stuart is going to be your top pairing in San Jose. Although McLaren will see more PK time than Stuart most likely.
In St. Louis, I see Drake going to the first line, and McAmmond and Bogie playing on the second line with Cajanek. Mayers is not a second line winger, he is a checker.
Fedotenko plays on the second line in Tampa Bay.
For the Leafs...I guarantee you, Allison will not be their third line center. Or Lindros. To get production out of all of them, Sundin will have to play the wing. You don't want Lindros doing that. And play them all on the top 2 lines. Either that, or Lindros goes on the third line, as he is clearly 3rd on the center ice depth chart behind Sundin and Allison.
Jovo and Ohlund don't play together much at even strength in Vancouver. Salo will likely play with Ohlund on the top pairing and Jovo will play with Allen probably, on the second.
Zubrus will probably center Ovechkin in Washington. Although it could be Cassels. It'll be fun to see what they do there.
I can see that you put a lot of thought into this, and it was fun to read. We all have our own opinions for lines and depth and such, but we won't know for sure until the regular season kicks off. Especially since you never know what will happen in the preseason. Nice article though, I enjoyed it.

"I'm assuming a decision will be made (Sunday or Monday)," Holland said. "I'm staying in touch with Gary Greenstin. We'd like to have Pavel back."(www.detnews.com) and spector also said :
As Wings Senior VP Jimmy Devellano said on Friday, " "If he can get $6 million in Russia, I say go get it. I'll help get you to the airport." but i could not find that comment in the Detroit press
For the Wings aside from those two it is pretty accurate |

Some teams that look nearly complete to me.
Vancouver (other than a shaky goalie)
Calgary (defense should be killer)
Philly (IF and only IF everyone is healthy and their goalies can pull it together, and if their defence somehow learnt how to skate)
Ottawa (Hasek is the only big question)
Getting close.
Phoenix (defence still needs that one great player to put them into a great team)
Toronto (I think they could probably still make it into the top 6 in the conference)
Tampa (lost their goalie, I doubt they'll make it to the semi finals even)
Pittsburgh (getting closer but still need some more good youth, I'd be surprised if they made the playoffs)
Islanders (made some moves, they might make it a bit further)
New Jersey (kinda disappointing compared to past years, should still be up there in the playoss though)
Montreal (still seem week somewhere)
Florida (definitely got better, still need defence and some more young O)
Edmonton (a couple of good/great forwards and they might get somewhere)
Columbus (I can see them continuing to add every year until they get to the finals, watch for them in 5 years)
Chicago (very much improved, should make playoffs easily)
Atlanta (if Kovalchuck signs they should be much improved)
Very disappointing.
Colorado (didn't do too much for themselves, very sad. they probably won't win very many games in their division)
Minnesota (did nothing, they still kinda suck)
Nashville (Karyia is not a one man wrecking crew)
St. Louis (no improvement, only got worse) |
