Projected finish for the top 4....
1st- Canada
2nd- Sweden
3rd- Czech Republic
4th- Russia
The only thing holding sweden back in the last olympics was some solid goaltending and now that they have Lundqvist playing well they will be a tough team to beat. The Czechs are tough not to pick 1st or 2nd but I dont think they got the hoarses on defense to take them all the way when being compared to Sweden or Canada. Russia can finish anywhere with all that talent and I really hope that Ovechkin Kovalchuk and Malkin play on the same line for sheer entertainment sakes. The U.S has no chance in hell and I dont care what anybody says on this site, they made too many bad picks and why the hell did they pick Chelios over Leetch, if you are gonna go with age with pick Chelios over Leetch? Im still mystified. I know Miller was injured but he can steal game for anybody unlike Greame or Esche. DiPietro is solid but he is no all star yet. The United States could very well finish behind Slovakia. Canada is Canada and if they all play together and as a team they should be able to win. The Swedes will be a tough test for the canucks and throw all those choke chants about the Swedes out the window this year because this time is gonna play hard and play to win.
THE REST THAT MATTER....
5th- Finland
6th- Slovakia
7th- U.S
8th- The Swiss
9th- Germany
10th- Latvia
11th- Kazakhstan
12th- Italy

I think the US team is a bit underrated. I realize they don't stand a chance against Sweden or Canada. However, they are a very gritty club and might end up doing damage against the softer teams such as Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Finland, and they could walk away from the Olympics with a medal.

I am not too sure how the schedule is set up or what division we are in, but as always, US vs. Russia will be fun to watch no matter the outcome.

No miracle on ice for the U.S.. Canada, Czech Republic, Sweden and Russia are the best.

Canada's lineup is impressive. Russia's top two goalies are having shaky seasons, and Bryzgalov is not proven. Sweden's hopes rest on Lundqvist, if he is on his game, they have a shot.

My Pick: Czech Republic.

Is it international rules, including ice surface being bigger??

their third goalie should be Hannu Toivonen
i think he is ready and he barely ever has a bad game in boston even with their horrible defense

the starting goaltenders should be miller for usa, brodeur for canada, kolesnik for kazakhstan, budaj for slovakia, hasek for czech republic, nittymaki for finland, gerber for swiss, italy don't know, nabokov for russia, irbe for latvia, and lundqvist for sweden..the goaltenders who will excel in shootouts are brodeur, kolesnik, hasek, and lundqvist..
