Re: Keith Primeau's season over (Score: 1) by Villanova on Thursday, February 23 @ 12:45:49 MST (User Info | Send a Message) | | Clarke has alot of youth he could part with right now. He also has a ton of draft picks in next year's draft. I know he picked up a couple of second and third round picks at the 2005 draft. That means he can either trade those picks directly, or he can trade his prospects and restock at the draft. I just don't want to see them give up Carter, Richards, or Umberger for a rental player. If he could resign Jokinen, maybe give up Umberger, a prospect and a pick for him. I have no idea what other teams would be offering though. |

I have been unable to find any definition to the rules. Let's say Prim's sits the rest of the regular season and they get someone like Sundin to fill his spot and cap space. If Primeau comes back for the playoffs I am of the understanding that the playoff roster payroll does not count towards the cap. Is this the case? Is it the cap ( I forget the amount) can not be exceeded at any given point of the season? Does the fact that for 3/4 of the season he has been out can they use that money saved during that time to exceed the cap amount? When does a players money get freed from the cap restrictions? 15 days on DL or 30 days on the DL etc?? |
