Marian Gaborik has bought a house in Vancouver - Signing to follow?
By Botchford - Vancouver Province
Marian Gaborik has bought a house in the Vancouver area, The Province has learned.
What this means come July 1, when he is set to become an unrestricted free agent, is speculation at this point but it's a safe bet the Slovak likes the city and could be angling for a contract here.
So far, it's not unlike last year when Gaborik's former Minnesota Wild linemate Pavol Demitra was seen visiting Vancouver weeks before he became a free agent. Demitra eventually signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the Canucks.
Gaborik open to a return to the Wild
TwinCities .com is reporting that Marian Gaborik is keeping his mind open about a new contract with the Wild. HTR feels “sure he is … money talks and Lemaire is gone.” Why wouldn’t he think about it.
Wild and Red Wings updates
The Detroit News is reporting that the Wings are not likely to make a mega deal at the deadline this year and the startribune.com is reporting that Gaborik is well ahead of schedule and it set to return in about 2 weeks.
Big Changes coming in Minnesota?
The Star Tribune is reporting that the Wild are concerned about two major issues right now, Gaborik and Backstrom and their expiring contracts.
Gaborik ahead of Schedule ... likely to still be traded
The Minneapolis Star Tribune is reporting that Marian Gaborik is well ahead of schedule in his return from surgery leading to the possibility that his trade value may once again increase considering the possibility that he could be ready (or not) in time for the playoffs.
Can Wild Keep Gaborik?
It is safe to say that the Minnesota Wild have established themselves as one of the best run organizations in the league. They have excellent fan support, good management and strong coaching. They have gone the route of building within, building through the draft and developing their own nucleus of players that they hope will grow into a contending team.
