Hockey is the game canadians can't seem to get enough of. It's like an addiction similar to playing the spin palace casino games. But most importantly it is down to the loyalty as a fellow canadian to follow the country's number 1 sport!

Could the Bruins trade Thomas>
The brass may feel Tuukka Rask is ready to be anointed the No. 1 goalie. He certainly has done his job well — and maintained a remarkably positive and cheerful attitude.
And it is quite likely there will be NHL teams that could manage Thomas’ $5 million cap hit and $3 million paycheck, and would view the two-time Vezina Trophy winner as the guy who could make them a playoff, or even Stanley Cup, contender.

B’s have room to move
The Bruins have some $3.1 million in open salary cap space, and could more than double that number if injured center Marc Savard were placed on the long-term injury list. Given that much free cash, many B’s fans seem eager for trades to strengthen an already powerful team.

Boston Sick of Kaberle
On the other side of the ledger, how terribly disappointing is Tomas Kaberle? Not only has he been unable to help the dreadful B’s power play (0-for-15), but he’s just frightening with his defensive-zone coverages, battling and decision-making. He saw the ice less and less as Saturday’s game got more and more nerve-wracking, with 15:25 (21 shifts) in regulation, and just 5:45 in the 29:03 of OT.

HTR Feature Article: Bruins left with a sick feeling
Bruins president Cam Neely stood facing the freight-elevator doors on the ninth floor of TD Garden, probably 20 reporters sardined in behind him. There had been plenty of idle chatter as the press-gallery security guard awaited Neely's arrival. And when the idolized former Bruins destroyer stepped aboard and the doors closed for the sixstorey trip to ice level, there was silence.

Tomas Kaberle-Bruins talks on hold
Bruins defenseman Tomas Kaberle has made significant contributions to Boston's blue line since the team acquired him on Feb. 18 from the Toronto Maple Leafs. At the time of the deal, where the Bruins surrendered prospect Joe Colborne, a 2011 first-round pick and a 2012 conditional pick in the second round, Boston's general manager Peter Chiarelli said he had every intention of signing Kaberle to an extension at the end of the 2010-2011 season.

Boston Bruins: Time for Peter Chiarelli to trade
It’s a big deal The Bruins’ past two games revealed all too clearly that their team, as currently constituted, is just not the real deal. Unchanged, the B’s — unless they happen to get mighty lucky — aren’t a genuine threat to win the Stanley Cup.

Trade Rumors: Now, Chiarelli should reach for a Star
His No. 1 center shattered, it’s now up to Peter Chiarelli again to pick up the pieces. How to mend a broken lineup? That’s Chiarelli’s charge, only this time, with a re-concussed Marc Savard done for the season, the Bruins general manager theoretically has the ability to engineer a roster makeover before the NHL trading deadline Feb. 28.

Trade Rumors: Bruins to be bust as deadline approaches
Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli expects to be very busy between now and the Feb. 28 trade deadline, trying to figure out his best option for filling the void left by the loss of center Marc Savard. “We built a team that is strong down the middle with our centermen, and obviously there will be a gap now,” said Chiarelli, who will be able to use a prorated portion of Savard’s $4.007 million salary on a deal. “So we’re going to have to look to fill that gap now. We’re going to have to be a little more diligent seeing what’s out there.

Leafs trade rumour of the day features Ryan Getzlaf When Ducks GM Bob Murray announced a month ago that everyone on his team, excluding veterans Saku Koivu and Teemu Selanne, could be traded, it opened the floodgates for rumours involving his team’s Big Three: forwards Ryan Getzlaf, Bobby Ryan and Corey Perry. It also lit a blazing fire a under the Ducks, who have recorded a 9-1-1 mark since the comments were made. With his club now 10 points out of a playoff spot, Murray may yet change his mind but speculation remains that the Ducks will be sellers as the NHL trade deadline nears. Leafs stalked by trade rumours In one corner of the Maple Leafs dressing room on Monday afternoon, Mikhail Grabovski was addressing trade rumours. In another corner, Clarke MacArthur had just stopped doing the same. Nearly a month has to pass before the NHL's trade deadline comes on Feb. 27, but with the all-star break finished, speculation will start to thicken in earnest. Mikhail Grabovski brushes aside trade speculation That is a lot of time, and there are a lot of seats in the dressing room. On Monday, as the team returned from the all-star break, the hottest seat belonged to Mikhail Grabovski, the centre who is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer. “You know, I think it’s more about you guys — not me,” he said of speculation he might become a bargaining chip in the trade market. “I think more about hockey than about my future. I know if I play well, I can stay with the same team.” | |
