Scott Hartnell for Colin Wilson?

By Elliotte Friedman

Trade that may only make sense to me: Scott Hartnell for Colin Wilson.

Insider Trading: Oilers shopping Yakupov?

Are the Edmonton Oilers shopping one of their former first overall picks? What is the market like for Jets’ captain Andrew Ladd? Could the Rangers land Eric Staal? The Insiders have the latest on these and more

Are the Hawks looking at Tomas Fleischmann?

ESPN’s Pierre LeBrun speculated last week that Montreal could be looking to deal a handful of veteran players, including left wing Tomas Fleischmann.

Fleischmann isn’t the hottest name on the trade block, but he could be a fit in Chicago. The 31-year-old inked a one-year deal with the Canadiens in September and has put up decent numbers this season, scoring 19 points in 55 games. Plus, at $750,000, he’s cap friendly.

Kuzma: Hansen, with 19 goals, on trade radar

Hansen has earned some attention.

He would suit a number of Stanley Cup contenders, who usually shop the rental aisle at the trade deadline instead of searching for better long-term and affordable fits. Spit-balling doesn’t cost a nickel, so here’s one scenario for the Chicago Blackhawks to at least consider. They are linked to every available winger but would have to probably part with a first-round pick and/or a prized prospect to land the likes of an Andrew Ladd. And then, of course, they lose him lucrative free agency on July 1.

Panthers co-owner raves about Ladd, but won’t ‘comment on discussions’

The ties between the Florida Panthers and pending UFA forward Andrew Ladd were never a secret.

Are the Blues after Kadri?

Bruins shouldn’t force a deal at trade deadline

When it comes to reinforcing this team for the stretch run and for the next few seasons, the Bruins are best served with hockey trades, such as the one that brought Brett Connolly last year for a pair of picks. Connolly is young, under control, and has room to improve. At the moment, he is not a go-to No. 1 right wing. But he is playing a good grind game next to Marchand and Bergeron, even if he doesn’t develop into the sharpshooting snapper that Lightning scouts once projected him to be.

RUMOURS DU JOUR

The Habs have been shopping UFA forwards Dale Weise and Thomas Fleischmann along with defenceman Tom Gilbert.

Time to decide if Kreider’s best use is as future star or trade chip

And now, a week away from the Feb. 29 trade deadline, Kreider’s name has begun to pop up with more frequency, though it is far more likely that is because he is a target for clubs seeking to do business with general manager Jeff Gorton than it is because the Rangers have made it known that the winger is available.
